These commercial stations work in many players besides the Real Player and have
good stereo sound. Try both of them. Antena Sur is slanted
more heavily toward folklorico. Peruvian radio broadcasting has a
different style from that in the US and Canada. When there is a
live announcer present, they try to create a sort of fun party
atmosphere. Recorded announcements are overproduced and loud
by American standards. While American announcers may "talk up" the
instrumental beginning of a music selection, these announcers may
intrude during any instrumental parts. When the stations are
running on automation such as at night, this doesn't happen.
Listening to these two stations will provide a multi-faceted look at the
local culture, and it helps if you know Spanish.
